About Me

Hey there!

My name is Spencer, and thank you for checking out my folio.

I have been a student of master of architecture at Monash University since 2021, and I am absolutely in love with architecture, design, art and anything in between. I see architecture as an interdisciplinary practice at its root, and collaboration both internal and external of an individual or the discipline is the key to deciphering the multiplicity of our contemporary built environment. I am currently working as a student of architecture at Plus Melbourne Studio. I envision space-making as the synthesis between the visual and the corporeal, between the dream and the reality, between the poetic and the responsibility.

I am also interested in the cross-pollination between art and architecture. Adapting painting as a new medium for spatial interventions helped me gain a new critical perspective on the existing architectural semiology. The uncertain nature of art-making and its self-reflective tendency propels me to question the status quo of architectural design. Such a dialogical and dialectical attitude is the foundation for creativity and innovation.

Furthermore, I am forever inquisitive and eager to broaden my knowledge as an industry professional and spatial artist. I am excited to meet the challenge posed by the collusion between architecture’s dual artistic and technical endeavours through collaboration and a can-do attitude.
